Beginning Sports Classes are for dogs and pups who have completed a basic manners class or the equivalent.
Introduction to Agility - Obstacles
4 Thursdays begins July 30th at 6:30 pm Cost: $75
This 4-week beginning class focuses on safely
and gently introducing your dog to the common obstacles found on agility
courses, and introducing you to the basic rules and dog-handling skills needed
to pilot your dog from tunnels to jumps. Each week will feature 3-4
different obstacles. This class is for dogs of all breeds
& will be taught on standard equipment according to (mostly) AKC
Regulations. Once a dog-handler team completes the course,
they’re ready for Agility II.
Class requirements: Permission
of instructor required. Dogs must be current on vaccinations. If your dog
has aggression issues, or would be severely stressed by a group setting,
consult with the trainer before registering!
Dancing with Your Dog: Canine Freestyle
4 Mondays begins July 27th at 6:30 pm Cost: $75.00
Whether you want to improve your heeling, learn some cool tricks or just deepen the bond with your dog, Canine Freestyle is a wonderful way to explore new training horizons. Why? Because:
You + Your Dog + Music = Magic!
Spin. Twirl. Leg weaves. Create a whole routine--or just heel to your own drummer with your dog. Find your beat to the music, and your heartbeat with your dog!
Class requirements: Permission of instructor required. Dogs must be current on vaccinations. This is an intermediate class suitable for dogs of all ages who have completed any basic, CGC or agility class and are comfortable working in a group setting. If you have any questions or concerns, contact me before registering.
Introduction to TEAM
For pups & dogs over 6 months who have completed a basic class
TBA - Cost: $75.00 per 4 sessions
brainchild of the fine folks at Fenzi Dog Sports Academy, TEAM stands
for Training Excellence Assessment Modules--but it really should stand
for Most Fun Ever! Each TEAM Level consists of a series of exercises
that challenge all aspects of your training and your dog, from nose to
feet to tail. Stays, position changes, working at distances, targeting,
rear end awareness, even nosework!--it's all there and it's all fun.
This is an ideal class for:
- On-the-go pups who need a “job” to let off steam
- Small space exercise & stimulation on cold nights
- Getting ready for Agility or other performance sports
Anyone who wants to have fun with their dog!
Class requirements: Permission of instructor required. This is an
intermediate class for dogs with some training; if your dog has fear,
reactivity or aggression issues, or would be severely stressed by a
group setting, consult with the trainer before registering!
